Live auction or online-only site?

There are two kinds of online classic car auction, and they work differently.

Question Live auction with online bidding (OK Classics) Online-only listing sites
How it runs A real auctioneer and a real room on sale day, with online bidders bidding alongside Each car is listed for a set number of days, with no live sale
When it ends When the hammer falls When the timer runs out
Seeing the car Preview every lot in person before the sale Usually photos and video
Who you bid against Online bidders and the people in the room Other online bidders

If you like to see a car in person, or to feel the room before you bid, a live auction with online bidding gives you both.

What it costs to buy online

No surprises. Here is everything you pay on top of your winning bid.

Charge Online, on our bidding site In person
Buyer's premium 11.5% of the hammer price 10%
Processing and title fee $85 per vehicle $85 per vehicle
Sales tax Memorabilia only Memorabilia only
Payment due Within 48 hours End of sale day

The online rate is for bids placed on our own bidding site, okclassicsonlinebids.com. Bidding through another online marketplace? That site's buyer's premium and terms apply, so check them before you bid.

Example: you win a car on our bidding site at a $20,000 hammer price. You pay $20,000 + $2,300 premium + $85 fee = $22,385. There is no sales tax on vehicles at the sale.

Pay by card, wire transfer, cashier's check or any of the other methods in our auction terms.

Not just cars: automobilia online

Every sale also brings porcelain and tin signs, gas and oil advertising and garage collectibles, and all memorabilia sells at no reserve. It is in the same online catalog and you bid on it the same way. Oklahoma sales tax applies to memorabilia.

Buying a car you have not driven

Our honest advice for bidding from a distance:

  • Every lot is sold as-is. Read the full description and look through every photo.
  • Come to the preview if you can, or send someone you trust. The preview days and hours are on the auction page.
  • Call us with questions before you bid: 405-481-9411, Monday to Friday, 10 AM to 4 PM.
  • Check that the car can be titled where you live. A lot sold on a bill of sale says so in its description.
  • Know the reserve. A No Reserve lot sells to the highest bidder. Other lots need to meet the seller's minimum.
